Understanding your child’s height and growth
A practical way to separate height measurements, growth patterns and the changes you notice during an exercise program.

One measurement is only a starting point
A height number can tell you how tall your child is today. It cannot, on its own, explain their pattern of growth or predict the result of a training program. Keep dated measurements and bring them to a healthcare appointment if you have concerns.
Height is influenced by genetics and other factors, including health and the environment. Children do not all follow the same timetable. Comparing classmates can therefore raise questions without providing reliable answers.
Keep three different observations separate
- Height: the measurement recorded using a consistent method.
- Movement: skills such as balancing, coordinating an activity or controlling a movement.
- Experience: how comfortable, willing and confident your child feels during a session.
All three can be discussed, but one should not be presented as proof of another. Better posture is not the same thing as additional bone growth.
Questions to bring to your coach
Ask what will be recorded, who will record it and how the team will explain changes over time. Ask which concerns should be taken to a healthcare professional. At Transform Kid, the Height Development Program brings exercise coaching, growth education and tracking together without promising a fixed height gain.
