Picky eating and growth: preparing a useful conversation
Organize your concerns and questions before seeking advice about eating and a child’s growth.

Describe the concern clearly
Families use “picky eating” to describe many different experiences. Write down what you have noticed and why it concerns you. If eating difficulties come with growth or health concerns, bring them to a qualified healthcare professional rather than relying on an exercise program for the answer.
Prepare questions that fit your child
- How should we interpret the child’s growth records?
- Does the eating concern need further assessment?
- Which professional can help with an individual eating plan?
- Are there activity considerations we should tell a coach about?
Keep coaching within its role
A movement coach can explain the activity program and discuss how the child participates. A coach should not use a height goal to prescribe supplements or an unassessed therapeutic diet.
Coordinate the next step
If your family is considering Transform Kid, explain the general purpose of any professional advice without sending medical documents in an initial email. The team can then discuss an appropriate process for relevant information. Our Height Development Program includes growth education, while individual nutrition and medical concerns require qualified care.
